Chandigarh: Regulations for various courses recommended by the Panjab University (PU) Regulatory Committee will be the supplementary agenda for the next Senate meeting on Tuesday. Confirmation of some people working in Laboratory and Technical Staff Group-I will also be tabled in the supplemental agenda, which was shared with members of the Senate on Sunday evening.
The regulations will affect courses such as MCom (Hons.), MBA, MBA (IB), MBA (HR), etc. (from admissions in 2019), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma) under elective credit system (effective from the 2017-18 session), Master of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (MHMCT) and modification of the eligibility criteria for the MSc in Nuclear Medicine. The recommendations of the regulation committee include the change of nomenclature from the five 1-year integrated program (honours school) in social sciences to the 5-year integrated program in social sciences (BA hons + MA) from the academic session 2019-20 as well as modifications/additions to regulation 3 for MBA (pharmaceutical management) and MBA (hospital management) (effective from the 2019-20 session).
Various other items on the agenda to be tabled on Tuesday will include consideration of the formation of a company under section (8) of the Companies Act 2013 for the operation and maintenance of the complex of multi-purpose auditoriums in sector 25, in accordance with the recommendations of the committee and provision of defense via skype.
The Senate will meet on April 26.
