DODA: The Principal Secretary of the Skills Development Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, today visited ITI Doda and inspected the ongoing construction works on the administrative block of ITI Doda.
He asked the relevant implementing agencies to speed up the pace of project progress for timely completion.
Dr Samoon also inaugurated the Computer Based Test (CBT) lab at ITI Doda, the first of its kind in the entire district. He appreciated the general functioning and the infrastructure of the institute, in particular the workshops.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma; Chief Superintendent of Police Doda, Mumtaz Ahmed; Co-Director of Skills Development Jammu, Farooq Ahmed Khan; Doda Main Polytechnic College, Ashiq Nabi; ITI Superintendent Doda, Ravinder Singh Bhatti and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
Dr Samoon inquired about the admission process for the current session 2021-22 with regards to ITI Doda. He stressed the need to introduce new short-term employment-oriented courses in line with the district skills plan and local industrial needs so that unemployed youth can get employment opportunities.
The principal secretary asked those concerned to research options regarding internships for interns in industries so that they are able to learn the trade and get internships simultaneously.
Later, Dr Samoon visited the construction site of Doda Polytechnic College to inspect the ongoing work on the building.
